Resident Companies

Wild Project provides a familiar home and attentive staff to our resident companies which enables the companies to continue their respective missions to serve the cultural landscape of New York City. Resident companies receive 2-8 weeks of exclusivity to Wild Project’s 89-seat theatre each year, which extends stability and clarity to theatre companies whose brand and artistic influence are experiencing growth.

What the Constitution Means to Me, Clubbed Thumb, Summer Series, 2017

One of our long-time Resident companies, presented playwright Heidi Schreck’s 2019 hit Broadway play, What The Constitution Means To Me, at wild project as part of its SUMMERWORKS 2017.

Clubbed Thumb commissions, develops and produces funny, strange and provocative new plays by living American writers. Clubbed Thumb is a groundbreaker, with a precise curatorial vision and a remarkable track record for launching artists’ careers; and an incubator, nurturing plays, collaborations, and above all artists, through thoughtfully deployed resources, opportunities, mentorship and hospitality.

Clubbed Thumb’s plays vary in style and content, but are always 90 minutes or under. They feature substantial and challenging roles for both men and women, are questioning, formally inventive, theatrical, and exhibit a sense of humor. Since its founding in 1996, the company has presented nearly 100 productions, and has been awarded 5 Obies, including the Ross Wetzsteon award for sustained excellence.

Established in 1991, All Out Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to bringing together the diverse artistic, organizational, political and financial resources of the LGBTQ community in order to fight intolerance.

All Out Arts fulfills its mission by supporting arts organizations within the community through fiscal sponsorship, events, contests, collaborations, networking events for emerging artists, and by sponsoring productions, concerts and exhibitions of visual arts. We confront homophobia through the humanizing influence of the arts, and the Fresh Fruit Festival is the primary expression of the All Out Arts mission
